Scope

In 2012 the 5th Mineral Sciences in the Carpathians Conference (MSCC) and the 3rd Central-European Mineralogical Conference (CEMC) will be organised together. Our aim is to offer a stable and suitable meeting point for mineral scientists (mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry and their applications) of the Carpathian-Pannonian-Alpine-Dinaride region.

We also welcome colleagues from outside Central-Europe. We firmly believe that this joint MSCC-CEMC conference, just like the previous ones, will initiate new research projects and educational co-operations in the close future. The programme will be complemented with two one-day field trips in Slovakia and Hungary and one workshop.

This will be the first important meeting in this region after the 20th General Meeting of the International Mineralogical Association (IMA), organised in 2010 in Budapest by the consortium of all countries in the region.

Scientific programme

The scientific programme is planned to cover mineralogy, geochemistry, crystallography, petrology and mineral deposits, as well as their applications (e.g. archaeological, historical, environmental, industrial), with special emphasis on the broad sense Alpine-Carpathian-Pannonian Region.

An Open Session will also be organised for all other related papers.

Contributions will be presented in oral and poster sessions.

Conference language

The official language of the meeting will be English.
